BEST ABSTRACT AWARD

Chinese American Pathologists Association

Dear Members: 

On behalf of the Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA) Executive Committee, we are delighted to announce the 2010 Best Abstract Award for pathologists in training of Chinese ethic origin.

The Chinese American Pathologists Association (CAPA) is formerly known as the Hua Tuo Society of Pathology.  Its mission is to promote excellence in practice, education and research, as well as advocacy on behalf of Chinese pathologists. The objective of the Best Abstract Award is to encourage and reward outstanding research contributions by our pathologists in training.

Eligibility:

1)     First-authored abstract(s) accepted for either platform or poster presentation at the 2010 USCAP Annual Meeting;

2)     Pathologists in training (resident or fellow) of Chinese ethnic origin.

Application:

 Submit accepted abstract(s) to Dr. Jiaoti Huang ( JiaotiHuang at mednet.ucla.edu ) or Dr. Jinsong Liu ( jliu at mdanderson.org).  The abstracts will be anonymously reviewed by members of the selection committee.

 Selection:

               The selection committee will carefully evaluate the abstracts in a blinded fashion.  Each abstract will be scored independently by three reviewers.  Abstracts with the highest average scores will be selected as the winners.

Recognition:

             The awards will be presented to the winners at the companion CAPA meeting during the upcoming 2010 USCAP Annual Meeting.  Each winner will receive a plaque with his/her name, a cash award, and recognition on the CAPA website.
